Hang-Gliding Groups

There are clubs through most countries where you can go hang-gliding (and Para-Gliding too in most).

You will probably be looking at spending between £30 - £50 a year for memberships to a club and clubs may meet anywhere from the first wednesday of the month, to every weekend; it depends per club.

Clubs will probably expect you to use your own equiptment though if you have never done any hang-gliding before many clubs will do lessons or be able to refer you to flying schools where you can learn to hang-glide properly.

You can find many clubs justs simply by searching the internet for one in your area. If you live in a very flat area you may have to travel to a suitable area to be able to fly.

If you do not wish to fly with a group many of the group's websites have details on suitple flying locations in the area and any rules you should abide by (sometimes phoning farmers/land owners to check flying on a certain day is okay, other information you may recieve is where you can and cannot fly).

If you are going to fly by yourself, always make sure someone is aware you are flying and where you're flying. Check with all land owners near by that taking off/flying/landing is okay on their land.
